The other day I was in the supermarket looking for fish to buy for dinner. I saw some tilapia and for a moment I had this memory of reading that there was some problem with eating tilapia, so I didn’t buy it. I came home with some cod instead.
Finally, after half a year, I joined a group ride. I started the weekend gravel grinder rides with the Waterloo Cycling Club about five years ago and these rides have been very popular in the fall, winter and spring. Last fall, I was able to find a good group of folks to lead these rides in my absence. This Family Day weekend, I was able to join for these gravel grinder rides for the first time since the spring of 2016.
The weather forecast called for temperatures as high as 7C so I planned my day around a ride in the afternoon. There are some good options for fat biking in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. This winter is only the my second winter with a fat bike, so I’m only beginning to explore. Because my speed and distance are lower right now, my fat bike rides have been closer to home. This has given me the opportunity to check out local multi-use paths and trails. Continue reading
2017 marks the 5th annual Steaming Nostril race in Waterloo Region. This event, organized by Cycle Waterloo, has become a Spring Classic in Ontario. Each of the previous four years has brought a different challenge.
